I love coming up with a new idea for our daughter's Christmas photos ever year that is fun and creative. This year I decided to do the box composite, which reminds me of the opening credits of the Brady Bunch, for those of you who remember the show.

When I do composites, I try to have as many "real" elements in the photos as possible, so I needed a box. I found one on Facebook marketplace for $20 from a local company that receives merchandise shipments in them. It was made of particle board and not in the best shape, but it was the only thing I could find that was big enough. So they loaded it with a forklift into our truck, and I brought it home. When I told my husband I needed it to go in my studio he laughed at me... it was heavy and very awkward to carry. I settled for leaving it in our garage where I gave it a couple good coats of white paint. On picture day I brought my studio lighting down to the garage and set everything up. 

While I provided some props for our daughter, I told her to just do whatever. This was perfect for her, because at 15, she is not a fan of getting photos taken and especially not when I'm taking them. But this was an opportunity for her to really do her own thing. She actually had a lot of fun and so did I. 

I put all the photos together in Photoshop and added a Christmas wish and it was done. Lots of personality showing through in this one and I love it!
