Newborn Sessions:
I recommend booking your session as soon as possible. In order to ensure my clients receive the best service, I offer a limited amount of newborn sessions each month. It's not uncommon to reserve your session 6 months before baby is due. If however you made a late decision to have newborn photos taken, please don't hesitate to contact me regarding availability.
Because I take a limited amount of newborn reservations each month, I am be flexible to adjust to your little ones arrival. Please notify me as soon as possible after the birth of your baby so we can schedule the session. Typically, I photograph newborns when they are approximately one week old (and before 14 days old). This is adjusted if your baby comes early.
While I have found that newborn images are best captured when babies are 7-14 days old, I realize that occasionally extenuating circumstances come into play. I have photographed newborns as "old" as six weeks and while we may not be able to get some specific poses, I am confident we can capture images you will love. At this age babies are more awake and a bit less poseable and I tend to use more wraps to keep them settled and comfortable. In addition, safety is my first priority so I will never force a newborn into a position that puts them at risk. You can view an example of a six week old newborn session on my blog.
Absolutely. I have a large collection of neutral and gender specific props, backdrops, wraps, hats, headbands, etc. that are available. If there are any personal, sentimental items that you’d like to incorporate into your session, I’d be happy to photograph them. Please let me know in advance if you would you are bringing personal “props”.
I understand new Moms and Dads are sometimes hesitant to leave the house soon after their little one arrives, however I only photograph newborns in my studio in order to create optimal conditions (temperature, lighting, etc.) and have access to items such as posers, props, etc. to ensure we create beautiful images.
3+ hours. I don't rush newborn sessions! At this point in their life, babies are calling the shots. I allow ample time for feeding, burping, changing, wrapping, posing, and photographing your little one. Only one newborn session is booked per day so I can devote the time needed to capture your sweet little one while they are sleepy and squishy.
No. Twins are photographed in the same session (both separately and together) and there is no additional charge.
Absolutely. I love photographing newborns with family members including siblings! I do ask that small children only be in the studio when they are being photographed.
Portrait and Cake Smash Sessions:
Part of my service is helping you select the location that will reflect your families personal style in photographs. I have lots of great locations suggestions and part of the initial consultation includes discussing location options.
Yes! I love to travel to unique and beautiful locations to capture the perfect images. If the location is more than 40 miles from zipcode 80138, there may be an additional fee.
First birthday cake smash sessions always include before portraits, photographs of the cake set up and of course the smashing, as well as bathtub clean-up photos. I find photographing all these shots ensures I capture beautiful images of your little one's milestone birthday even if they aren't big fans of icing. I provide a the props for a custom set-up for these "Smash and Splash" sessions that can be based on your child's birthday party theme or general color scheme. And I coordinate all three types of photo setups to ensure you have cohesive look should you want to display your images on wall art or in an album. I do not provide the cake due to dietary considerations but would be happy to recommend bakeries for the perfect cake.
Selecting and Purchasing Images:
